The picturesque Match lake is suited to both the dedicated match
fisherman or any angler just wanting to catch large bags of fish.
The match lake can be fished by pleasure anglers providing there is
no match booked that day, see match calendar. There are 40 well spaced purpose built
swims provide comfortable and easily accessible fishing. There are
also a number of swims suitable for the use by disabled anglers.
The water was heavily stocked with over 2000 Carp between 4oz and
4lb, together with Roach, Tench, Skimmers, Pirch, Rudd. The fish
have since thrived and some of the carp go to over 9lb. The water
fishes well to a range of methods with many favouring the pole. The
small fish seem to respond well to a spraying of Fish feeder
pellets with maggots and castors fished on the hook. The larger
fish seem to come to sweet corn, luncheon meat and mini boilies.
